...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow above 7000 feet. Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches with up to 18 inches along the Sierra crest. 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation at lake level. Ridge winds gusting up to 60 mph. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...Until 11 AM PDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult, especially through mountain passes such as Donner Pass, Echo Summit, Carson Pass, and Ebbetts Pass. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall is expected Tuesday morning through late afternoon with snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour at times.
